It may not be known to many, but it is worth mentioning that Hispanic students who are headed to school have the advantage of availing several scholarship and grant options. These programs that are designed in particular for the students of Latino heritage, allows this often undeserved minority group to have the same privileges as the rest of the population which are more often than not reserved for those who have a higher education.
The Latino students can access a variety of programs designed for them through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund – one of which is the Gates millennium Scholars programs which helps and serves minority students of all nationalities, including Latino students. In this program, the students with high GPAs are awarded with money for school regardless of the degree program they pursue. The typical award this program is between $1,000 to $ 5,000.
Latino students planning to pursue science, technology, engineering or mathematics may qualify for the Proctor and Gamble Scholarship offered through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the students must attend a the full-time degree program in the United States or one of the qualifying territories.
